App privacy policy
This English version is a courtesy translation; the German version is legally binding.
In short
- On the App Store, Leporello is declared as “Data Not Collected”: no account, no server of its own, no ads, no tracking, no analytics, no third-party SDKs.
- Your photos and projects stay on your iPhone.
- You pick photos with Apple’s photo picker; Leporello needs no access to your library.
- For place names and the map, the app uses Apple Maps; for this, coordinates or search terms go to Apple.

Photos and videos
You choose pictures and videos with Apple’s photo picker. Leporello only receives the files you select – without access to the rest of your library – and keeps them in the app’s own storage on your iPhone. The app reads the capture date, capture location and technical details such as camera and exposure from the image data to sort carousels into trips and to give hints about image quality. This evaluation happens on the device only.
Saving to Photos
The app saves finished pages with the “Add Photos” permission. With it, the app can place new pictures and videos in your library but cannot read anything in it.
Apple Maps
To find place names, search for places and show trips on the map, the app uses Apple Maps (MapKit). In doing so, coordinates from your photos or your search terms go to Apple. Apple processes this data under its own responsibility; for users in the European Economic Area, this is Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland. Details are in Apple’s privacy policy.
Location
When you tap “Use location” while creating a carousel, iOS asks whether the app may use your location while you use it. The app then determines your location once, looks up the place name via Apple Maps and stores place and coordinate only in the project on your device. You can withdraw the permission at any time in the iOS settings.
Crash and performance reports
If you have allowed sharing with app developers in iOS under “Privacy & Security” → “Analytics & Improvements”, Apple provides me with crash and performance reports that are not linked to you. Whether you share is entirely your choice there. In test versions via TestFlight, Apple passes crash reports and feedback on to me. The app itself sends no reports.
Legal bases
Processing on your device serves the features you use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The app accesses photos, location and saving only with your permission in iOS (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). I evaluate crash reports via Apple to fix errors (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention
Projects, photos and settings stay on your iPhone only, until you delete them in the app or remove the app.
Children
The app is not specifically aimed at children and processes no data that would require consent.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). An informal message to support@rumority.com is enough.
Complaints
You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for me: The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de.
